Hey is it me you are looking for??? A wife to her husband... After 5 years of married life I still ask the question. I know it sounds spooky. But it's true. When I got married I breezed in to the world with certain relish. We used to cook together. Chat for hours, take bath together, dance together, and off course sleep together. But during these 5 years, lot of things faded from the list and a lot more piled up. We invited a friend in to our relation and he is Mr. Fight. He used to stopover at our house time and again. Sometimes I invited him and sometimes both. After 3 years of marriage we decided to plan for a baby and Insha’Allah he returned our prayers and blessed us with a little Angel. Life became more resilient after that. So our not so frequent friend became our usual visitor. Very soon he started to stop over. So nowadays nobody invites him. Years passed, our likes and priorities have changed. Finally, we both realized that this is not going to drill our life, a stranger cannot stay far and wide. Either we empty the house and we move apart or say adios to him. It’s the verdict time. And the question pops. Hey is it me you are looking for?????
Hey is it me you are looking for??? A parent to a child. Giving birth and growing a child up as a self-effacing soul is the toughest job in the world. A baby was born after 12 hours of labor pain, a pain which you cannot even conceptualize. Soon after seeing her baby’s face a mother forgets the pain and seize the baby in her arms. Feeds milk which sometimes comes as blood. The father who sits beside her throughout the night soon forgets the pain when he gets to cut the umbilical cord. Subsequently it was tossing and turning nights for both the parents. They even kissed goodbye to their love for each other temporarily. The life for a couple is never the same after a baby is born. Remember those sleepless nights when your baby had fever and cold? Every parent still remembers their child's smile, their fav toy, fav food, fav dress and the list is endless. In the spur of a moment the child grows and renounce you. You find it difficult to understand their conversation when it was very easy to understand their blabbering .. They become prudent before taking you out for dinner because they fear you might fall short on table manners where as you were so happy to take your kid out for dinner and clean his messy plate and table. When you used to wake up at night there were always hands to pat you to say don't worry I am there for you and put you back to sleep. Now they are old and weak. They need your love and care. And the question pops again Hey is it me you are looking for?????
